She sold her jewelry’s, land many other valuable assets to keep alive her project, which was found in 1990.She has also used and still using her low scale dairy farming thought its contribution is continuation becoming negligible. Although, the founder of this organization proud of many children who have pass through her project and have now become sufficient and productive citizens and that saved many children from the darkness (possibility from death).she is dreadful of imminent danger coming fast to her organization for lack of fund to keep it function unless she get an immediate and sustain financial and material to support the kids if this not happen the orphans will be in problem.

OCA T-SHIRTS PROJECT
August 21, 2007 by Orphans for Christ.
OCA T-shirts Project will be based on the existing Orphans for Christ in Africa (OCA) Logo. The T-shirts will be worn as the official uniform for all children and widows attending this year’s HOPE FOR KIDS Christmas Gift Celebration, in Uganda and during all official events of Orphans for Christ in Africa. The donor organization will have the option of placing the appropriate organization logo on the right Hand side of the T- shirts. The T-shirts will become a collector’s item by Orphans for Christ in Africa across Uganda and internationally and will have the potential to create revenue for the orphans.
Aims
The aims of OCA T-shirts Project are to:• Act as identification with the donor agency/Orphans for Christ in Africa partnership.
• Generate revenue for Orphans and widows within OCA programmes.
• Increase exposure of Orphans for Christ in Africa in Uganda and the sponsoring organization through sale and use of the T-shirts.
Objectives The objectives of OCAT-shirts Project are to:
• Present each child and widow attending the 2007 Hope for Kids Christmas Celebrations and all official OCA events with a tangible record of the event.
• Distribute additional T-Shirts throughout Uganda through sales to the attendees of the events
• Increase revenue for Orphans for Christ in Africa to support needy children.
Costs
The T-shirts can be produced in various sizes of small, medium, large and extra large, and xxx large sizes, for both children and adults. The T-shirts will be made out of 100% cotton materials, having Orphans for Christ in Africa Logo on the left hand side and the donor agency logo (if need be) on the right-hand side, with the inscription, “My Dad is Father to the fatherless”, on the back. The T-shirts can be in Gray, Navy Blue, Orange, White or Green non-shading colors. Producing this kind of T-shirt is cheaper and cost effective, especially when large quantities are required.
Cost for production of 1,000 pieces of 100% cotton T-shirts in USA, UK, Canada, China, Japan, Australia, and other places has yet to be obtained. It may well be more cost effective to produce the T-shirts locally in Uganda, in which case the donor may have the option of either providing funding or may like to investigate the costs for production on their own. The cost of producing one (1) 100% cotton Tee Shirt in Uganda is approximately US$7. Funding assistance is required to help OCA achieve this goal.
I’m writing to invite you to consider supporting us in this effort, by either providing T-shirts in-kind or funding for making the T-shirts locally in Uganda, or both. The T-shirts will be given as part of the ‘Christmas Gifts’ to each of the orphaned children, youth and widows attending OCA’s 2007 Hope for Kids Christmas Gift Party Celebration. Financial gifts will help purchase the T-shirts locally in Uganda, which we believe is cheaper than shipping the T-shirts in-kind.
Financial donations for this project can be made by mail or wire transfer. Checks should be made payable to: “Orphans for Christ in Africa Ltd” and mailed to our mailing address: P.O. Box 28454 KAMPALA UGANDA. To donate by wire transfer, please e-mail: anthony@orphansforchrist.com, for details. Financial support meant specifically for this project should be wired to OCA, by October 30, 2007.
All in-kind donations should be marked “Donations for Humanitarian Aid” and mailed (preferably) BY AIRMAIL, DHL, FEDEX or similar courier service, to our mailing address: P. O. Box 28454, Kampala Uganda, to the attention of Mr. Anthony Onyango Yakobo, Director, Orphans for Christ in Africa. Telephone: +256 782 691 159.

HOPE FOR KIDS 2007 CHRISTMAS GIFT PARTY IN UGANDA
August 21, 2007 by Orphans for Christ.
Dear friends:
This year marks the 2nd anniversary of Orphans for Christ in Africa (OCA) as an NGO, working with HIV/AIDS orphans, vulnerable disadvantaged children and youth, and their communities in Uganda. More than 3 million children have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS in this third-world country and this number is increasing everyday. Despite these tragedies, the children left behind need our support to enable them have a life of dignity and realize their full potential. At the same time, we recognize that HIV/AIDS is entirely preventable through education and awareness.
To date, Uganda remains one of the poorest countries in sub-Saharan African most affected by the AIDS Pandemic. In Uganda, where there is a staggering 3 million AIDS orphans with many new cases of HIV infection, nearly everyone in our country and city knows someone who has been affected by AIDS in some way — at home, work, school or place of worship.
At Orphans for Christ in Africa (OCA), we are dedicated to providing holistic care and support to children and youth left orphans and provide our local citizens with the information they need to help stop the spread of AIDS. As part of our continuing efforts, we are hosting 2007 HOPE FOR KIDS CHRISTMAS GIFT PARTY Celebration, for orphaned children and youth. This year’s celebration will take place in two of our Children’s Centers, namely; Kajjansi Children’s Center, in Kampala, and at New Hope Children’s Center, in Tororo, eastern Uganda. This year’s HOPE FOR KIDS Christmas Gift Party is scheduled for December 23, 2007.
Hope for Kids Christmas Gift Party Celebration is OCA’s annual end of year thanksgiving Christmas Gift Celebration for all orphaned and disadvantaged children and youth and widows who are in OCA’s childcare and support programs. The objective of the program is to enable orphaned children, disadvantaged youth and widows share in the joy and blessings of Christmas by giving them tangible Christmas gifts of clothing, shoes, beddings, blankets, scholastic materials, bicycles, toys, etc, and other in-kind presents.
OCA holds this program on December 23, of every year. A total of 200 orphans took part in last year’s Hope for Kids’ Christmas Gift Party that took place at Kajjansi Children’s Center, and each of the 200 children and youth received Christmas gifts and presents, donated by OCA supporters and friends from all over the world.
I’m writing to invite you to join with us in this effort, by providing goods and items in-kind and/or financial support towards this event. The items will be distributed as ‘Christmas Gifts’ to each of the children, youth and widows attending the Hope for Kids Christmas Gift Party Celebration, 2007. Financial gifts will help to purchase additional gift items locally in Uganda and buy refreshments for the children, youth and widows attending the Celebration.
The gifts of children’s clothing, toys, musical instruments, bicycles, beddings and school supplies donated last year for this same program was distributed to the 200 children who attended last year’s HOPE FOR KIDs Christmas Gift Celebration, at Kajjansi Children’s Center, Kampala Uganda. This year, we plan to have the Christmas Gift Celebration in two of our Children’s Centers namely; Kajjansi Children’s Center, in Kampala and New Hope Children’s Center, in Tororo district, eastern Uganda.
Items that could be donated for this program include, but are not limited to:
Children’s Christmas gift boxes, Bibles, clothing, bedding, shoes, games & sports equipment & supplies - soccer balls, volley balls, basket balls, table tennis, netballs, sports shoes, outdoor sports wear, badminton, balloons, First AID Kits, school bags, school supplies, Children’s Music CDs/DVDs, Bicycles; musical instruments - acoustic/electric and/or bass guitars, piano keyboards, sound boards, amplifiers, microphones, microphone stands, loudspeakers, trumpets, saxophones, violin, acoustic/electric drum set, (Band Equipment),etc. Goods and items meant for this year 2007 HOPE FOR KIDS Christmas program should be AIRMAILED to reach OCA offices in Kampala, by November 15, 2007.
Financial donations can be made by mail or wire transfer. Checks should be made payable to: “Orphans for Christ in Africa Ltd” and mailed to our mailing address: P.O. Box 28454 KAMPALA UGANDA. To donate by wire transfer, please e-mail: anthony@orphansforchrist.com, for details.

Dear Beloved in Christ,
I do humbly request to go thru the Orphan Homes as three facilitations to start with 30,
In three places we are planning. We have approached the Orphanages.ws. It has opened the doors for us tell about us a little. We do have the Children who were suffering with the AIDS/ HIV, deserted, street Children, the Children of the Prostituetes, poor and the handicapped, ill health father and the mother, Diabetes parents, Crippled parents, so on ,these were neglected by the society and the families those were in under the poverty line. There are many other people and the Children who were not in the protection of any family and the Institutions so far. We request you to see and look at the weeping eyes of the Children for the food, and be kind enough to help with.
If we are not able to take these advantages to help them with the nursing, they would be addicted for the Cigars, Liquors, and the other things. They themselves will destroy their lives. Now asking you to handle with ur kind arms. Do help now, grow the Child in the fear of the Lord, so that they would give and live for God.

HOPE FOR KIDS UGANDA
August 13, 2007 by Orphans for Christ.
Hope for Kids Uganda is the networking arm of Orphans for Christ in Africa (OCA), a child care NGO that provides holistic care and support to HIV/AIDS orphans, vulnerable disadvantaged children, youth and their communities in Uganda. The aim of this blog is to provide information, create awareness and give opportunity to all people all over the world, who love and care about the needs of HIV/AIDS orphans and disadvantaged children to respond to these needs and to also give the orphans and disadvantaged children of Uganda an opportunity to share their stories, challenges and needs with the rest of the world, allowing interested individuals, groups, families, churches and organizations to actively respond to the challenges and needs of HIV/AIDS infected and affected children and communities in Uganda and provide any possible support.
Hope for Kids Uganda would like to meet partners and networking people interested in providing assistance, financial or in-kind, to orphans and disadvantaged children in Uganda. We welcome willing partners from not-for profit organizations, churches, groups, families, and individuals interested in partnering with OCA from all over the world. Individuals, families, groups, churches, organizations, companies and anyone else with a heart for, passion and compassion for helping disadvantaged children and youth to enable then have a better life, HOPE and DIGNITY and reach their full potential, are welcome to partner with us in this worthy cause. All people who care about the welfare and needs of HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable disadvantaged children and have passion and compassion to see poor and disadvantaged children and youth in Africa, get an education, shelter, better life and hope for a better future through holistic childcare and support, education, skills and vocational training, HIV/AIDS care and support and provision of shelter for the homeless are welcome to subscribe to provide support to any of our programs and projects
Orphans for Christ in Africa (OCA) is committed to doing the following:
• Providing Holistic care, protection and support
for the orphans left behind, and
• Preventing more people from being infected with HIV Virus Supporting the Orphans Left Behind:
Foster Care through Extended Family Networks.
One of the ways through which Orphans for Christ in Africa is provides holistic care and support to orphans and vulnerable children are foster care through existing extended family Networks. We believe orphans and homeless children are best cared for in family units through the network of existing extended family members, foster care and through adoption programs that enable siblings to live together. This is more cost effective and enables the children to grow up and be cared for in a family environment of the home as which has positive psychological effect on children.
Our initial approach focuses on resettling orphaned children with existing extended family members namely, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, grandparents, etc, who serve as guardians to the orphans. We then look for resources and provide basic necessities that the children need namely, school fees, clothing, beddings, school uniforms and supplies, medical care, spiritual nourishment, and other necessities.
In our initial childcare program in the Tororo area of eastern Uganda, we had 12 children who were cared for in foster families. After we place a child in a foster home, we look for resources and sponsors to help provided the basic necessities for the children. These include: school fees, clothing, shoes, school materials, school uniforms, health care, spiritual nature and financial support. We help with small funding to facilitate production of extra food stuff from local gardens to feed the orphans and help with other needs as well. In this way, the guardians provide the comfort, love, care and support that the children desperately need, live above their difficult and traumatizing past and have self-esteem.
Care in Orphanages & Children’s Homes
Meanwhile foster care remains one of best ways of providing holistic care to orphans and vulnerable children, we recognize that the AIDS disaster has had such devastating effects that the breakdown of the normal family support structures in Uganda (and across the continent) has been of alarming proportions. It is therefore not surprising to find that some children have been left without any known living relative. As a result we recognize that the extended family members may not always be found and in many cases the existing family members are either already over-burdened with so many children and find it practically impossible to take in more orphans or they are themselves too sick to care for children.
A typical example is a case in Nakigalala village, Kajjansi in Wakiso district of Uganda (see pictures); where this sickly 60-year old widowed grandmother (’Jjaja) has been left alone with 5 orphaned grandchildren aged 3-12, without any support. In situations like these and where it is not possible to find an extended family member or family that can provide foster care for the orphans, Orphans for Christ in Africa cares for the children in an orphanage or a children’s Centre that provides housing, education and a nurturing environment for homeless orphans. OCA runs Kajjansi Children’s Center, near Kampala and New Hope Children’s Center in Tororo, Eastern Uganda.
It is important at this point to realize that Sub-Saharan Africa alone accounts for a staggering 15.5 million AIDS orphans, 2.5 of which are in Uganda alone, and this number is increasing daily, making it practically impossible for existing family members to adequately care for the increasing number of orphaned children in the country.
Meeting Basic Needs
Unlike other parts of the world where childcare and support tend to focus mainly on children’s emotional and Psychological needs, children in Uganda and the rest of Africa require additional support that meets their basic needs. Orphaned children often suffer from lack of basic needs some of which are:
Food & Shelter - Orphans need a safe and secure housing environment where they can be provided with good nutritious food and a place for recreation that enables them to grow up as whole persons with dignity and self-esteem. We believe we can all join our hands in an effort to give this future generation a better a bright future through care and support.
Education and Life Skills - orphaned children are often denied access to education, since people believe (wrongly though) that since their parents died of HIV infection, they are also infected and therefore pose a risk to other children. Even the few orphans who try going to school end up dropping out due to lack of financial support. The girl children are most at risk. Our study in Tororo district of Uganda shows that education still remains a reserve for the boy-child and in most communities, orphaned girls are forced to marry at an early age (12-15 years) in order to get dowry (bride wealth) and pay school fees for the boys”, (not necessarily their orphaned brothers but in most cases to pay school fees for children of living relatives – sad!).
Computer & ICT Skills Training
Orphans for Christ in Africa (OCA) is planning to set-up a Computer and ICT Skills Training Center aimed at providing Computer and ICT skills training to HIV/AIDS orphans and disadvantaged youth who have no financial support to attain post secondary education. The program is a cost-effective educational program for young women and men to attain vocational training that will enable them to succeed in the job market. Many young women often find it difficult to adjust back into the normal educational environment of standard schools after dropping out due to lack of financial support or other causes. The Computer Skills Training Center will be the positive environment that will give them that equal opportunity in an environment and culture where education still remains a reserve for the boy child.
Computer and ICT Skills Training
In December 2006, Orphans for Christ in Africa received a donation of 20′ feet container load of 185 used computers and other ICT equipment from Mr. James Kilpatrick and the Suburban Baptist Church, of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, for setting up this Computer and ICT Skills Training Centre for Orphaned children and disadvantaged youth in Uganda. Orphans for Christ in Africa currently have the 185 computers ready to be set up into the Computer & ICT Skills Training Center in Kampala Uganda. We intend to open the center right outside of Kampala on Entebbe Road.
The Center will be an ongoing program that also plans to be self-sustainable by creating an internet café along with the computer training center. The large demand in Uganda for internet cafes will help generate an income that will go back into operational expenses for the center and the classes. The goal of the project is to set up the OCA Computer and ICT Skills Training Center that will provide Computer and ICT Skills and Job Skill Training to minimum 180 orphans and disadvantaged youth annually, with special emphasis and priority given to the girl-children and young women. However, this project still requires funding for initial setting up and for purchasing initial project furniture, supplies and internet installation and connection.
Our greatest need at the moment is financial resources to set-up and run the project. Financial donations can be made by mail or wire transfer (Bank wire Transfer) or Western Union Money Transfer. Checks should be made payable to “Orphans for Christ in Africa Ltd” and mailed to our mailing address. To donate by bank wire transfer, or Western Union please email:anthony@orphansforchrist.com for details.
Since education is every child’s right, as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we seek to provide this opportunity to all school going orphans and disadvantaged children. In Uganda, even where government schools exist, books and learning materials are lacking. Classrooms are not adequate and the few that exist are over-crowded. A few years ago the Uganda government introduced Universal Primary Education whereby primary education are supposed to be free, however, supplemental fees and other costs, such as those for school books and other materials, uniforms, lunch, building fund, etc, are higher than many families can afford. For millions of orphans, the choice remains to quit school, find work and eat or continue with school and starve. We believe this sad state of affairs can be turned around by providing opportunity for these children to go to school and acquire good education is a worthwhile investment.
Healthcare
Orphaned children often have many urgent physical needs but healthcare and nutrition are critical. We seek to provide good healthcare and nutrition to enable the children grow up in a healthy environment. Malaria also remains one of the killer diseases claiming lives of precious children in Africa today. Yet with simply basic preventive kits such as mosquito nets, this could be easily avoided. Orphans for Christ in Africa seeks to provide these kits, among other services to save children from death caused by malaria.
Spiritual Nourishment
Orphaned children need a home to live in, food, clothing, education, healthcare and protection as a safety net for their future, but most importantly they need spiritual care for the health of their souls. In addition to meeting physical and emotional needs of Children, OCA seeks to meet children’s spiritual needs. Thus we seek to obey the command of our Lord when He said, “let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matt. 19:14, Mk.10:14, Lk. 16:16). For we believe “life is more than food just physical needs” (LK.12:22-29) for true life in all its fullness can be found only in having a personal relationship with God through faith and trust in Jesus Christ (John 3:16, 10:10). Thus we seek not only to provide for and meet physical needs, but more importantly spiritual needs of children so that they have hope for the present life and the life to come, eternal. Our holistic childcare programs aim at addressing and meeting some of these needs.
Some practical ways you can help:
• Sponsor a Child – you can sponsor a child or sponsor a number of children for monthly, quarterly or yearly.

• Sizeable Grants – we are open, flexible and sensitive to God’s leading on the part of persons sizable grants of $300 or more. You can designate your gift and we will apply it towards a specific project, event, activity, program, resource or service that you favor. Famine Update
August 6, 2007 by scot.
Below are some emails that were sent about Winnie. The orphan that is trying to save the dying girl.
Dear Maurice,
Winnie’s sponsor has asked you to do whatever you can to
save this child that Winnie is laboring over and he has agreed to cover
the expenses. I would hate to see little Winnie’s heart broken after
trying so heard. We are so very proud of these young people and I know
you are also.
Please continue to let us know of the progress of this little girl, and
the cost of caring for her.
Esther
The girl is able to talk and can now play. She ate well yesterday and even this morning when I went to pray for her, she was in stable condition. Only that she does not eat much. I think she will survive but is still a bit weak. Please keep everybody praying for her.
If she can survive, then it can be one of the miracles God will have done before the eyes of the children. At least at the moment, I can say that she is getting better health-wise.
God bless you abundantly.
Maurice

Famine
August 6, 2007 by scot.
Pastor Maurice wrote the following letter about the famine and the difficulty street children are having in finding food.
You (Esther and Vicki) saw how many children were coming by the gate to at least get a meal or something to take home or even have their photos taken with a hope that we will one day accept them in to the center. It is a period of starvation but good luck, we have got maize and beans from Uganda.
For the last three weeks, it was reported that several children have died of starvation especially in this Province. In Homa-Bay and Rongo towns, 37 children have died of starvation or hunger related cases. No food for them and they died. On Friday, older boys and girls went to tears when they heard about it. Most of the children we have now were also from the streets and so they know what it means to starve to death. They had once felt the pain of starvation. That is why they held a meeting.
I did not attend the meeting and they even did not want me to attend. It was a meeting for the older boys and girls aged 14 and above. They discussed and came up with a solution which they later presented to us.
They decided that they want to save the lives of some of the children in the streets, let alone those who come by the gates everyday. So, they decided that Beginning last Sabbath (Saturday), they skip a meal a day and that meal is to be given to the children dying in the streets. So we began the program on Sabbath. It is still on and will continue until August.
Most of the children who have died of starvation in the streets are aged between 3years old and seven years old. So, in this program, they are only feeding children in that age bracket. They also carry water to give them. So far, they have fed about 214 children.
I thank God that we have orphans who can feel for their fellow suffering children in the streets. God is truly teaching these children to be missionaries. I am just so much impressed. They have not forgotten the pain of where they came from. They feel touched when they hear of young children dying of starvation.
Please pray for these our children and tell all the sponsors that their children are just so wonderful in deeds. Tell them that they generosity is not only saving lives and giving hope to the hopeless, but they are also raising missionaries for God.
Yesterday, Bob’s daughter (Winfred Ajwang) decided to carry one of the children they had fed. Actually, the child is too weak and I don’t think she will survive. She had probably stayed for weeks without food or even a place to sleep. Winfred is trying to spoon-feed her but I fear for her life. she might not survive the next four or five days. She is about three years old or four. just found in the streets and so we have no history about her. But she is likely to die. Winfred has a lot of love for children and she truly feel for this child. The child sleeps on her bed and if she wets the bed, Winfred does not mind. She is saying that she is determined to save the life of the child. She was even too weak to speak yesterday, but today in the morning, she just smiled after drinking porridge and taking pineapple juice. She can not speak yet. She is just too think and all bones.
If this child is to survive, I am sure she will need some special medical attention. I don’t really know but we just put it into prayer.
WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR UNDERSTANDING, GOD IS RAISING UP MISSIONARIES AT HFCC. I HAVE DONE COMPLETELY NOTHING TO MAKE THEM MISSIONARIES FOR GOD. IT IS GOD DOING IT ALONE. I THANK GOD FOR THIS. LET US PUT THEM IN PRAYER.
Thank you very much and God bless you abundantly
Maurice
